I bought this pretty little quilt for $2.00. Can you believe that?! It just gets to me. Someone bought material, which is expensive. They cut and sewed each block. They finished the front and back and quilted the entire thing. It cost me less than a greeting card to buy it! I think of all the things I have made and sold or have given away over the years. How much ends up at a thrift store or yard sale? I know you should not keep things that you don't love or need, but wow, it sure makes me appreciate gifts that someone took the time & effort to create for me!

Today I decided to work on one of the projects I picked up at quiltsonroute66. Instead of making a wall hanging I made a fabric covered box to put a birthday gift in. Then I decided to make a cake box cover. I just used the words and improvised the rest of it using dyed felt. Oh the possibilities are endless! (The bottom photo is the pattern)
