I have made these in the past, and I made this one for my last sale. I didn't have it filled with yummy vintage stuff, and it didn't sell. I know I should have filled it, but I always think people can see objects the way I do. I love to tuck my favorite things in pockets, and it not only looks pretty, but I can find things when I need them.
I made garland for my booth and my wicker chair, and then decided to make some garland for Christmas with lights. It was not hard, but it was time consuming and took a lot of fabric. My first attempt was with Christmas material. It was very pretty! Then I used Cowgirl Chic materials, and I really liked the way that turned out.
Here are some of the items I will be selling this Friday and Saturday at the Front Porch Pickins vintage and handmade festival at the Peoria Sports Complex November 13 & 14th!
I probably shouldn't tell this story because it should make me feel ashamed, but it was to good to be true! I told you I went antiquing and to a tag sale, well I was on my way home and I made one last stop. I found some good things, and when I was loading them, I spotted this DURAWORX cart that was for sell. It was only $7.00! Well all I had left on me was $5.00 and some change. I asked the seller if he would take $5 and change and he laughed and told me yes. I was so excited because I can use it to haul stuff up and down my hill. And let me tell you, I used it 5 time just on Saturday!! I was curious and looked up the wagon cost on Lowes website and it was $69.98. How is that for a happy shopper? Plus, when my husband saw it he said he had just been looking to buy one. I'll share!!
On Saturday I went to a antique sale and then to a tag sale. I found this little chaise lounge. I want to put it in my show next weekend. I put a new quilt on it that makes it look a little more contemporary. It would also look cute with a vintage quilt. If I had a space in my house I would keep this in a heartbeat! It's comfortable and would be perfect to cuddle up on and read a good book.
I'm an art teacher and junk lover! I like to hunt for and repurpose treasures from flea markets, old barns, yard sales and funky shops.
