I know you Wyoming girls won't be impressed, but we had a very beautiful snow today! Yesterday we were out in our short sleeves, and today we put on our mittens, scarves, coats, etc. and we played in the snow! This was a rather big deal for us because we don't get snow very often in Wickenburg. I loved it!! So after I played outside, I came in and played. I finished off a couple of projects I've been working on. And I want to wish you a very happy New Year! We are going to bring in the new year very quietly at home, looking out the window at the beautiful snow!!

Today I finished a quilt that I made for myself! I started it 7-18-13. Here is the post I made on my old blog, sewoldsewnew.blogspot.com. I have taken it out now and again to work on the stitching/quilting, and today I decided I really wanted to finish it. I set it out, stitched all the little places that were not done and sewed the antique ruffle edge around it. I am so danged happy! The fun thing about this quilt is that I can continue adding quotes, important dates and even photos. It has pieces of old and pieces of new. It is definitely a work of heart!
First of all, Merry Christmas! It has been such a busy time but I wanted to take a moment to thank you for visiting my web page. I started my vacation on Saturday. I made 13 dozen tamales. Sunday I made a few decorations that I saw on Pinterest! Monday I went to downtown Phoenix to figure out how to pay my sales tax for the shows I did this year. There must be an easier way! Anyway, I got that done and went Christmas shopping, Nothing like waiting until the last minute!
Tuesday I cleaned my house and then took a hike up the hill with my hubby and had a nice glass of wine. And here we are on Wednesday, Christmas Eve. I'm ready to see my son and Amanda! Everything is ready and I look forward to spending time with my family! Merry Christmas and I will try to put together some new posts soon. There are so many really cute saying out now, and here are a couple of my new favorites! I printed the sayings off the computer and I used decoupage to attach them to these glass blocks. The blocks I had already came with lights, but one of them quit working. I very patiently pulled the set of lights out of the block light by light! It was a pain in the rear but it was worth it when I was finished. Wouldn't these be perfect in a child's bedroom or bathroom?
I spent the day working on Christmas projects! I made this Christmas window and stockings. Then I painted this vintage box, and cracked the wood because I didn't quit when I was screwing the lid on. "Oh, brother!" Finally, I added greenery to these springs my sister had given me. I really like them.
I hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving! I took some time to spend with family and then I took a bit of time for some much needed rest. I read a good book, slept, relaxed and spent some quality time with my mister. It was so very nice!!
I just finished painting this little wood bureau. I hope I didn't reduce the value by painting it, but it didn't sell when it was just plain wood, so I dressed it up a little. |
