So I decided to do another swap, and this time the theme is Easter. You send 10 item to a fellow swapper, and each item starts with each letter in "Easter Time". I have gathered all of my items except for one, and I need the person's name that I swap with before I can finish the last little gift. Here is a peek at the box I have been preparing!
So here comes the funny part.... I received the persons name that I am sending my package to. I finish it up and get it all ready to mail. I am so excited because the gift goes to a person in Singapore. Yes, I said I would mail mine out of the U.S. . Are your ready? The postmaster tells me it will cost $80.00 to mail my package. I think to myself, is this really worth mailing for $80.00 plus the cost of the items being mailed? Long story short, no! So I took the gift home, took things out of the boxes and fancy wrap and re-packaged them and took out the heavy items and replaced them with light weight items. I put it all in a big first class postal envelope and take it to the postmaster once again. He weighs it and tells me it will be $58.00. He directs me to a big plain mailing envelopes and tells me to try it again, and to make sure I fill out a customs receipt.. I repackage it all again right there in the post office, and I return to the postmaster. It is now down to about $20.00 and I happily ship it off to my new friend in Singapore!
