I recently retired and I will say it was the best decision I could have made! Over the last month I have been organizing sections of my art room. This seems to be a project that will take a life time. The good thing is that I keep coming across projects that I have started and had not completed. That's how this pillow came to be. I found a piece of old fabric that I had written a saying on. Then I had a piece of lace that my cousin Nora gave me. Next was the piece of fabric that I was going to make a journal with that I had sewn buttons and little strips of fabric on. Then there was a beautiful hand stitched floral piece, and next to that was a piece of vintage linen that I had sewn more buttons onto it. I decided to sew them all together, adding some soft floral fabrics. Pretty soon I had a large pillow that is almost the length of a full sized headboard. There is a space where I can add a word on the floral stitched section, and I can add an image under the looped fabric pieces. It is oh-so feminine, and I love how it came out!
